What factors have an impact on snoring?
Some people don’t snore and we may wonder why not. Other people snore softly like cats and others roar like lions and we ask why? Whether or not you snore is attributed to a number of factors, such as whether or not snoring is a family habit, if you’re prone to allergies or not, have a nasal passageway structural irregularity or have been injured. Some people who are overweight snore as a result of excess weight or fatty tissue build-up, but not all. These are a few reasons that differentiate snorers from non-snorers.
Long term and temporary snoring factors
Snorers either have the genes causing a nasal blockage, experience allergic reactions causing their nasal airways to inflame and obstruct breathing, or have been unlucky enough to have damaged their nasal-facial structure affecting how they breathe. Non-snorers are fortunate not to have such respiratory blockages and can freely breathe through their nose without stop snoring remedies. Snorers generally breathe through their mouths or snore as a result of soft palate.
Other more temporary breathing restrictions can include drug and/or alcohol intake, causing the person to snore. However, people with addictions to alcohol and drugs can develop on-going snoring problems. Other factors are hormones, and changes during pregnancy that can result in snoring during sleep. Besides unusual tiredness, some people remain blissfully unaware of their snoring, while others use jest, tact, or direct approach to inform the snorer of their habit.
Effects of snoring on snorers and non-snorers
Although there is a clear difference between factors affecting snorers and unaffected non-snorers, people without a snoring condition can be affected by snoring. That is why a visit to The Private Clinic is so valuable. If someone shares a bedroom with a snorer, or if walls between rooms are not sound-proofed, those without a snoring condition can be kept awake and become angry with a snorer.
Snorers are known to have sleep deprivation, and to develop high blood pressure and other health related conditions. Their relationships often suffer because non-snorers are also sleep deprived and irritated as a result of their snoring. Both snorers and non-snorers can therefore have sleep deprivation and stress. For this reason, for improved health and quality of life, it is vital to seek treatment for snoring.
